EPU's Child Development Center

In response to the unique developmental needs of children, our program provides an inclusive individualized guidance through routine-based caregiving. Our early childhood professional team supports children’s learning and curiosity through secure relationships and natural play.

We provide full-year, full-day* early childhood services for eligible children.

To enroll:
– Child needs to be between 18-30 months old
– Child does not need to be toilet-trained
– Eligibility is based on need and family income

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

*On some days, we close early to support teacher professional development and in-service. Advance notice is provided to parents on such occurrences.

The Child Development Center is funded through California Department of Social Services.

Is there a cost?

Family fees are assessed individually, based on family size and income.

Do you provide meals?

Yes, we participate in the Child and Adult Food Program through which we are able to provide breakfast, snack and lunch on a daily basis at no cost to the family.

What do I need to bring with my child once enrolled?

Change of clothes, diapers and wipes are the most common items children need.

What qualifications do the teachers have?

All teachers have a current Child Development Teaching Credentialing Permit (issued by the California Dept of Education), in addition to holding an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field. We value ongoing professional development. Thus, we have invested (and will continue to invest) in trainings focused on inclusion, responsive caregiving, promoting culture and diversity, and supporting relationships, interactions and guidance.
